An existing bank was renovated into a small business incubator for a Latino community.
To accommodate multiple organizations, Manifold designed a new mezzanine level and core elements, carefully fitted within the historic envelop of tall arched windows and coffered plaster ceiling. A vertical separation wall of clear glazing maintains the sense of the connected community within one volume of space. A new core of offices, toilet rooms and kitchen, is wrapped entirely with opaque colored glass. Between these two centrally located reflective elements, a new transparent stair activates and ascends to the mezzanine and shared meeting space.
